According to the Hungarian NECP, Green Bus Programme will enhance decarbonization and energy efficiency as well in public transport. “Under the Green Bus Programme already adopted by the Government, it is expected that by 2029, nearly 1,300 environmentally friendly local buses could be in operation. In the first years, the programme will also offer the possibility to purchase compressed natural gas (CNG) and EURO 6 advanced diesel buses, and thereafter will rely on electric vehicles. Natural gas and biogas could play a greater role in freight transport in addition to public transport.”

The Green Bus program is a good measure from two aspects. The first one is the mitigation of CO 2 Emissões no transporte público. Isso é muito importante, dado que CO 2 Emissões do transporte de passageiros estão aumentando constantemente na Hungria. O segundo aspecto é a composição de fontes de emissões de transporte de passageiros urbanos e poluição do ar. Transporte Although the largest contributors are the ICE cars, there is also a significant contribution from buses. The drastic reduction in the latter reinforces the moral basis of city authorities to implement stronger and stronger measures to rationalise and reduce car transport
